Day 1 Bagamoyo Historic Town Day Trip Main Destination: Pwani

Your guide collects you in the morning from your hotel in Dar es Salaam for the drive north along the coast to Bagamoyo, about 70 km away. Visit the Kaole ruins with their old mosques and tombs, the Catholic mission and its museum, the Old Fort and the German Boma. Walk through the old town and along the beach where dhows still land. After a picnic or restaurant lunch, return to Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon.
