Day 1 Iringa to Ruaha National Park and Afternoon Game Drive Main Destination: Ruaha National Park

Your driver-guide collects you in the morning from your hotel in Iringa, the highland town that is the usual gateway to Ruaha. The drive west to Ruaha National Park takes a few hours on a partly unpaved road through villages and baobab country. After check-in you head out on your first game drive along the Great Ruaha River, where elephants, giraffes, impala and buffalo come to drink. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 2 Sunrise Game Drive in Ruaha and Return to Iringa Main Destination: Iringa

Wake early for a sunrise game drive in Ruaha National Park, the best time to find lions, leopards and hyenas on the move and elephants heading to the river. Return for breakfast, then drive back east to Iringa, arriving in the afternoon. Your driver-guide drops you at your hotel, the bus station or Iringa airport for your onward journey.
