4-Day Mount Meru Family Climb

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park. Complete registration at Momella Gate before beginning your trek through the beautiful montane forest.

Your first day offers opportunities to see wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, and various bird species. Continue gradually uphill through the forest to Miriakamba Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Elevation: 1,500 m – 2,514 m

After breakfast, continue climbing through the forest towards the open moorland. The trail becomes more dramatic as you approach the Saddle area, with spectacular views of Mount Meru's volcanic landscape.

After arriving at Saddle Hut, enjoy lunch and some time to rest. Families who feel comfortable can take a short acclimatization walk towards Little Meru (3,820 m) before returning to the hut.

Wake up around midnight for the summit attempt. Begin the ascent under the stars towards Rhino Point and Cobra Point before reaching Socialist Peak (4,566 m).

Celebrate your family achievement at the summit while enjoying spectacular sunrise views over Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and the surrounding landscapes.

After taking photographs, descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast and a short rest before continuing down to Miriakamba Hut for your final night on the mountain.

After breakfast, enjoy your final descent through the lush forest towards Momella Gate.

Complete the park exit formalities and celebrate your family's successful Mount Meru adventure. Your private vehicle will then transfer you back to Arusha for your onward journey.
