Day 1 - Zanzibar to Selous/Nyerere National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight set at 6:00 to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, you will begin game drive safari You’ll have a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park/Selous Game Reserve taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point for a chance to spot the images of your dreams ranging from beautiful scenery to fascinating views of wildlife, in a natural habitat. You may expect to see diverse wildlife which includes elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest, antelope, lion, leopard, rare wild dog, jackal, and an amazing array of colorful birds. 3:30pm your drive take/drive way back to airport ready to flight back to zanzibar and you will take off around 4:20pm

A first dream safari

We had an amazing day trip safari from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park with Mchakamchaka Tours. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, including the flights, park entry, and safari vehicle.
Our guide was highly professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Despite it being a one-day trip, we were able to see many animals such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and lions. The guide’s experience made a big difference in spotting wildlife and explaining everything clearly.
The safari vehicle was comfortable, and the picnic lunch was well prepared. Time was well managed, allowing us to fully enjoy the park before flying back to Zanzibar the same day.
This was a perfect option for anyone with limited time who still wants a real Tanzanian safari experience. We highly recommend Mchakamchaka Tours and would definitely choose them again for another safari in Tanzania.
