Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve is a hidden gem located in the southern region of Malawi. It is the smallest wildlife reserve in the country but boasts a diverse ecosystem that supports a variety of wildlife, bird species, and unique landscapes. Covering an area of approximately 135 square kilometers, the reserve is part of the Nyika-Vwaza complex and is managed by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife in collaboration with conservation organizations.
Mwabvi is characterized by rugged terrain, woodlands, river systems, and rocky outcrops, making it a fantastic location for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Despite being relatively lesser known compared to larger national parks like Liwonde and Majete, Mwabvi offers an intimate and unspoiled safari experience for visitors.
