Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your Kampala hotel. You will first be transferred between Entebbe and Kampala (as requested, these transfers are fully included), where you meet your professional safari driver-guide and settle into your 4WD safari vehicle. You will stop en route for: A relaxed lunch stop Brief rest and photo opportunities along the Equator or scenic viewpoints (time permitting) Optional: If preferred, this long drive can be broken with an overnight en-route stay or replaced with a domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro (costed separately). Arriving in Bwindi in the late afternoon or early evening, you check in to your midrange forest lodge nestled on the edge of the park. After settling in, your guide briefs you on the next day’s gorilla tracking rules and expectations. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After an early breakfast, you are transferred to the Bwindi park headquarters for a mandatory gorilla tracking briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and a tracking group of no more than eight visitors. Accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers, you enter the dense rainforest. The trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. The terrain is steep and wild but deeply rewarding. Once the gorillas are found, you are allowed one unforgettable hour in their presence: Observe them feeding, resting, and interacting Watch playful juveniles and the powerful silverback Experience one of Africa’s most emotional wildlife encounters After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and well-earned rest. The afternoon is relaxed and flexible: Guided nature walks around the forest edge or nearby community
Following breakfast, you head out for the Batwa Community Cultural Trail, a powerful and educational experience led by members of the Batwa community the original forest dwellers of Bwindi. During the experience, you will: Learn traditional hunting and gathering techniques Visit former forest shelters and sacred sites Enjoy storytelling, music, and dance Hear firsthand accounts of Batwa history, resilience, and culture This essential cultural interaction provides meaningful community support and deepens your understanding of Bwindi beyond wildlife. After the Batwa experience, you begin the return journey to Kampala, with onward Kampala ↔ Entebbe transfers included (completing the four Entebbe–Kampala transfers you requested). Arrival is in the late evening, marking the end of the tour.
