Tour Overview

What Makes This Safari Stand Out

This safari suits those with limited time to explore northern Tanzania. Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater each offer unique experiences. While many opt for private campsites outside parks to cut costs, we believe in authentic wilderness camping. These sites provide less comfort, limited hot water, and communal bathrooms, but offer an immersive wildlife experience. Meals are prepared by your cook, and we supply tents, tables, and chairs. Private campsite options are available.

Day By Day

3 Day Itinerary

Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park Main Destination: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your driver/guide will be ready at your hotel to pick you up and head into Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park boasts diverse landscapes, including plains known as the "Little Serengeti." The Tarangire River attracts numerous animals to its banks, especially during the dry season. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodlands and giant African Baobab trees, with extensive swamp areas in the south. Tarangire National Park is renowned for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This park is also home to three rare species: the greater kudu, the fringed-eared oryx, and the Ashy starling. Additionally, the park supports large populations of buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, impalas, gazelles, warthogs, and occasionally wild dogs. Bird enthusiasts will appreciate the park's rich avian diversity, with over 400 species recorded. During midday, we will stop at a designated picnic site for lunch and con

Day 2 Tarangire National – Lake Manyara National Park Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast at Tarangire National Park, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a drive of approximately 120 km (about 1.5 to 2 hours). Upon arrival, embark on a game drive to witness the park’s rich wildlife, including monkeys, baboons, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. A picnic lunch will be served at a designated spot within the park. Continue exploring different habitats and enjoy bird-watching in the afternoon. Later, depart Lake Manyara and drive about 46 km (1 hour) to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at Simba Public Campsite in the evening. Settle into the campsite, which provides communal kitchens, dining areas, clean toilets, and hot showers. Keep in mind the campsite is not fenced, so wildlife such as zebras, hyenas, and elephants may pass through, particularly at night. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 3 Ngorongoro crater – Arusha/JRO Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, we descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This unique ecosystem supports a diverse array of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and elephants. Predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard are also present. Occasionally, black rhinos are spotted in this area.

We'll visit Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake in the crater's southwestern corner, which serves as a habitat for flamingos and hippos. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at this picturesque spot. The crater's compact size—approximately 20 kilometers in diameter—allows us to experience its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes within a half-day visit.

After lunch, we ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey. The journey to Arusha covers approximately 177 kilometers and typically takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.
