Day by Day Activities
Day 1 - Pick up from Kigali - travel to Nyungwe forest - canopy walk
Pick up from your place of residence/hotel in Kigali town, Rwanda, by African Expeditions’ driver/guide, and he/she will brief you about your safaris. The first destination is Nyungwe Forest National Park with an en-route stopover at some historical sites on the main road, like Kamegeri Rock, the king’s palace, and museums in Nyanza. Arrive in time for lunch and check in to your booked accommodation. Later in the evening, you will have a canopy walk deep into the forest combined with a walk around the tea plantation. Retire back to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Chimpanzee tracking Nyungwe - transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Take your early morning breakfast and later get to the starting point for a briefing from the park officials/guide on the do’s and don’ts, before you set off into the forest for a chimpanzee trekking experience. The trek will be completed in time for lunch, after which you will return to the booked lodge for lunch, check out, and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Check into your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Gorilla tracking Volcanoes—Evening community walk
After taking your breakfast, you will be transferred by African Expeditions’ driver/guide to the starting point at least 30 minutes earlier for a briefing from the trekking guide about the mountain gorillas that you will be seeing in the volcanoes. After you retire back from your gorilla trekking adventure, you will later head out to visit Buhanga Forest for some Kinigi Cultural Village with dinner and overnight at your booked lodge/hotel.

Day 4 - Drive back to Kigali—city tour—drop off
Have your breakfast, and then later head out to Kigali for a city tour to visit the genocide memorial, local food markets, and artisan markets. After browsing the local handcraft markets for souvenirs, head to the airport to return home or be dropped off at your preferred location.
