Spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve on morning and afternoon game drives or an extended full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Follow the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants, giraffes and antelopes gather to drink beneath doum palms and riverine woodland. Your guide will help you search for big cats, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos and Samburu’s distinctive northern wildlife. The reserve’s rugged hills, open savannah and dramatic river landscapes provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Return to the lodge or camp for dinner and your second night in Samburu.

After breakfast, check out and travel south toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, with scenic views of Mount Kenya possible along the way. Arrive for lunch and check-in before beginning an afternoon game drive across the conservancy. Ol Pejeta is one of East Africa’s leading wildlife and conservation destinations and is home to both black and white rhinos, including the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Depending on time and operating arrangements, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and learn about the conservancy’s efforts to protect endangered wildlife. Continue searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and other animals before returning to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning the return journey to Nairobi. Depending on the departure schedule, there may be time for a short morning game drive as you leave the conservancy. Travel through the fertile central highlands, with an optional lunch stop along the way, before arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your memorable Samburu and Ol Pejeta safari.
