4-Day Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro with Hot Air Balloon

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for an exciting game drive. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees and beautiful landscapes along the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife, especially during the dry season.

Keep your eyes open for giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes and predators such as lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.

In the late afternoon, drive to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park, traveling through the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy spectacular views of the changing landscapes as you make your way toward the Serengeti plains.

Upon arrival, begin your game drive in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas and large herds of wildebeests and zebras. Depending on the season, you may witness the incredible Great Migration, when millions of wildebeests and zebras move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the safari and continue exploring the park in the afternoon before heading to your accommodation.

Overnight: Lodge or tented camp in the Serengeti.

Rise early for one of the most unforgettable experiences of your Tanzanian safari: a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti. Float peacefully above the vast plains as the sun rises, revealing breathtaking landscapes and the possibility of spotting wildlife from above.

After landing, celebrate your adventure with a special bush breakfast in the wilderness (subject to the balloon operator’s arrangements).

Continue with a morning game drive through the Serengeti, exploring more wildlife-rich areas and searching for the Big Five. After lunch, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying game viewing along the way where conditions permit.

Arrive at your lodge or camp near the Ngorongoro highlands in the late afternoon, ready for the next day’s crater adventure.

After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 metres into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive on its wildlife-rich floor.

Explore this remarkable natural wonder, home to an impressive variety of wildlife. Look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos and, with some luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. The crater’s varied habitats, from open grasslands to wetlands and woodland, provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before ascending in the afternoon and beginning your return journey to Arusha, arriving later in the day depending on road and safari conditions.

Your four-day adventure concludes with wonderful memories of Tanzania’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
