Day By Day
4 Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arusha → Tarangire National Park → Karatu Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
Your 4-day Tanzania safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Meet your professional safari guide, receive a short briefing, and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park.
After approximately two hours of driving, enter Tarangire National Park and begin your first game drive. The park is famous for its impressive elephant population, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and diverse wildlife.
During your game drive, look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and, with some luck, lions and leopards. Tarangire is also an excellent destination for birdwatchers, with a wide variety of bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing your afternoon game drive.
In the late afternoon, exit Tarangire and drive toward Karatu, a charming town located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive at your lodge, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater → Serengeti National Park Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Descend approximately 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting morning game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife and offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and gazelles.
You may also have the opportunity to spot the endangered black rhinoceros in its natural habitat.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before ascending the crater and continuing toward Serengeti National Park.
Enter the Serengeti in the afternoon and enjoy an en-route game drive as you travel toward your accommodation. The landscape gradually opens into the famous endless plains of the Serengeti.
Arrive at your camp in the evening, enjoy dinner, and relax around the campfire while listening to the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 3 Full-Day Serengeti National Park Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive through Serengeti National Park.
The Serengeti is one of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations and is renowned for the Great Migration. Depending on the season and location of the migrating herds, you may witness large groups of wildebeests and zebras moving across the plains.
Your experienced safari guide will select the best wildlife-viewing areas based on current animal movements and seasonal conditions.
Keep your eyes open for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous antelope species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing with your afternoon game drive.
As the afternoon comes to an end, begin your journey back toward camp, enjoying a final game drive along the way.
Return to camp for dinner and your final night in the Serengeti.
Day 4 Serengeti → Ngorongoro Highlands → Arusha Main Destination: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your camp before beginning your final safari experience.
Depart for an early morning game drive through the Serengeti. The early morning is often one of the best times for wildlife viewing, when predators are active and the cooler temperatures encourage animals to move around.
Continue your game drive as you gradually leave the Serengeti and travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way before continuing your journey toward Arusha.
Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening and conclude your 4-day Tanzania safari with a drop-off at your hotel or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
Safari Ends: Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
