Day 1 - Day 1 Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha or the airport and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, located in the Manyara region. The park gets its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it.
As the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire spans 2,600 square kilometers. It is renowned for its large herds of elephants and is typically much drier than the Serengeti. However, its landscape is lush and green, featuring expansive grasslands, vast acacia woodlands, and stunning stretches of aquatic forest. Don’t miss the iconic baobab trees, which can live up to 600 years and store between 300 and 900 liters of water.
After a midday break for lunch, you will continue your game drive into the late afternoon. Your day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at Fig Tree Lodge & Camp.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you for a thrilling game drive, complete with a picnic lunch. On this day, your guide will focus on exploring the best areas of the Central and Southern Serengeti that you may have missed on the first day. Early morning is the prime time to spot the Big Five and elusive predators like lions and leopards.
The Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Tanzania, spans roughly 15,000 square kilometers. It's home to over 2 million herbivores, along with 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and around 500 species of birds.
During the dry season, vast herds of migratory wildebeests and zebras fill this area. However, the Northern Serengeti is also rich in resident wildlife, ensuring there’s always something remarkable to see.
