5-Day Conquer the Roof of Africa–Day Marangu Route Adventure

After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Marangu Gate for registration and a climb briefing. Begin trekking through lush rainforest, home to towering trees, colorful birds, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and your first overnight stay.

Leave the rainforest behind and enter the beautiful moorland zone. Enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi Peak as you trek across open landscapes dotted with giant heather and unique alpine plants. Overnight at Horombo Hut.

Cross the alpine desert known as the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. The rugged scenery signals your approach to the summit. Arrive at Kibo Hut, enjoy an early dinner, and rest before the midnight summit attempt.

Habitat: Alpine Desert

Begin your summit climb shortly after midnight. Reach Gilman's Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your incredible achievement, take unforgettable photos at sunrise, then descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing to Horombo Hut for the night.

Hiking Time: 11–14 hours

Habitat: Arctic Zone and Alpine Desert

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate before meeting your driver for the transfer back to your hotel, where you can celebrate your successful climb.
