DAY 1: ARUSHA/MOSHI – CENTRAL SERENGETI

Journey into the Heart of the Serengeti

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha or Moshi. Drive towards the Serengeti through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania.

After entering Serengeti National Park, begin your first game drive as you make your way towards the Seronera area.

The Central Serengeti is an excellent wildlife-viewing region because of its permanent water sources and diverse habitats. It is home to large numbers of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and numerous antelope species.

Depending on the migration season, your guide will monitor recent wildlife movements and choose the most appropriate areas for game viewing.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: CENTRAL SERENGETI – GREAT MIG MIGRATION

Wake early for breakfast before setting out on a full-day game drive through the Serengeti. Today is dedicated to following the Great Migration and searching for the enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra.

Your experienced safari guide will use local knowledge and recent wildlife movements to identify the best areas to explore. Depending on the season, you may see large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra, often accompanied by gazelles and other herbivores.

Where the herds gather, predators are never far away. Keep your camera ready for possible sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, birds of prey, and other Serengeti wildlife.

During the migration season, your guide may focus on rivers, open plains, or fresh grazing areas where the herds are moving. If conditions are suitable, you may witness the spectacular drama of a river crossing, one of Africa’s most unforgettable wildlife experiences.

DAY 3: CENTRAL SERENGETI – NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Morning Game Drive & Scenic Journey

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, when cooler temperatures and active wildlife offer excellent opportunities to spot predators and other wildlife.

Continue exploring the Serengeti before travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Depending on the route and time available, guests may enjoy scenic views and opportunities to experience archaeological or cultural attractions.

Arrive in the Ngorongoro highlands in the afternoon and relax while enjoying the cool climate and spectacular landscapes.

Recommended Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge on the crater rim, ideal for an early crater descent the following morning.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO CRATER – FULL-DAY WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, a spectacular volcanic caldera renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife. After an early breakfast, descend into the crater for a full-day game drive across its scenic grasslands, woodlands, wetlands and lakes.

Keep watch for black rhino, lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, gazelles and warthogs. The crater offers outstanding wildlife viewing and photography opportunities, with the dramatic crater walls creating a spectacular backdrop.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing the game drive. Later, ascend the crater walls and return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

DAY 5: NGORONGORO – ARUSHA/MOSHI

Final Morning in Tanzania

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before beginning your journey back towards Arusha or Moshi.

Depending on the departure time, guests can enjoy a relaxed morning or make an optional stop at a local cultural or craft centre along the route.

Continue to Arusha or Moshi for the end of your safari.

Guests continuing to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) can be dropped off according to their international or domestic flight schedule.
