Day 1 Walking Safari, Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater Main Destination: Arusha National Park

Your driver-guide collects you from your hotel in Arusha for the drive of about 45 minutes to Arusha National Park. Start with a walking safari with an armed park ranger through the forest and grassland on the lower slopes of Mount Meru, with a stop at a waterfall and a giant fig tree. Watch for giraffes, buffalo, zebras and black-and-white colobus monkeys. After a packed lunch, go on a 4x4 game drive to the Momella Lakes, where flamingos often gather, and view Ngurdoto Crater before returning to Arusha. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
