3-Day Nyerere National Park Private Safari from Dar Es Salaam

Your driver-guide collects you early from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. The road runs south through coastal farmland and villages towards Nyerere National Park. After entering the park, you start your first game drive in the afternoon. Watch for elephants, giraffes, zebras and impala in the open woodland, and hippos and crocodiles near the water. In the evening you check in at your lodge or tented camp near the park for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you spend the full day exploring Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch in the bush. The park mixes open grassland, miombo woodland, palm-lined lakes and river channels, so the scenery changes through the day. Your guide searches for lions, buffalo, elephants, giraffes and large groups of hippos. Nyerere is also known for African wild dogs, although sightings are never guaranteed. Return to your lodge or camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Start with an early morning game drive, when many animals are most active and the light is soft for photos. Return for breakfast, then leave the park and drive back north to Dar es Salaam. You arrive in the afternoon or evening, and your driver-guide drops you at your hotel or at the airport for your onward journey. We recommend booking onward flights for late evening or the next day to allow for road conditions.
