Day 1 Pugu and Kazimzumbwi Forest Walk Main Destination: Pwani

Your guide collects you in the morning from your hotel in Dar es Salaam for the drive to the Pugu Hills, about 25 km south-west of the city. Walk forest trails through the Pugu and Kazimzumbwi Forest Reserves, among the last remaining patches of coastal forest in the area. Look for forest birds, butterflies and small monkeys, and learn about medicinal plants and old trees from your guide. After a picnic or restaurant lunch, return to Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon.
