Day 1 Jozani Red Colobus, Spice Farm and Salaam Cave Turtle Swim Main Destination: Zanzibar

After hotel pickup, drive about an hour to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. With a guide you walk the forest trails to find the Zanzibar red colobus monkeys, then cross the mangrove boardwalk and learn how mangroves protect the coast. Next, visit a spice farm to see how cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla are grown, with fresh fruit to taste. In the afternoon drive to Kizimkazi to visit Salaam Cave, where rescued sea turtles live in a clear natural pool. Swim near the turtles under your guide's supervision, then return to your hotel.
