2 Day Itinerary

Day 1 SGR Train from Dar Es Salaam and Afternoon in Mikumi Main Destination: Mikumi National Park

Start with an early transfer to the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station in Dar es Salaam and take the electric train west to Morogoro, a journey of around two hours through farmland and small towns. Your driver-guide meets you at Morogoro station for the road transfer of about 90 minutes to Mikumi National Park. After lunch and check-in you set out on an afternoon game drive across the Mkata floodplain, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras and buffalo. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 2 Uluguru Mountains Viewpoint and SGR Train to Dar Es Salaam Main Destination: Morogoro

After breakfast, drive back towards Morogoro and stop in the foothills of the Uluguru Mountains, a range of green, forested peaks that rise above the town. Enjoy the views over farmland and villages and learn about the mountain communities from your guide. Then continue to Morogoro station for the SGR electric train back to Dar es Salaam, around two hours, with drop-off at your hotel in the evening.
