You will be traveling southwest of Uganda while seeing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda through Mbarara. You will have a stopover for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Center before proceeding with the journey to Bwindi through the district of Bushenyi, which is part of Kasese, through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here, if lucky, you could see the tree-climbing lions and other big game such as elephants, topis, and buffaloes. Continue with views of the magnificent greenery and the rolling hills of Kigezi, and finally, Kanungu district, which connects to the Buhoma sector and is part of the Bwindi Forest. Arrive in Bwindi at around 5:30 pm for dinner and overnight.
Wake up early at 6:00 am for your breakfast and later wait for your driver/guide to transfer you to the gorilla tracking briefing point to be briefed about the safety guidelines and be grouped and allocated guides for your tracking experience. Thereafter you will set off at exactly 8:00 am, when the guide will ensure that everyone has packed lunch and enough pure bottled drinking water.
After having breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start your journey to return to Kampala/Entebbe. Lunch en route in Mbarara town. Then a second stopover at the Uganda equator for souvenirs and leg stretching and to view a few facts about the equator, and finally proceed to the final leg of the trip/drop-off at the airport for the return flight back home.
