4 Day Itinerary
Day 1 Drive Addis Ababa to Lake Langano Main Destination: Abijatta-Shalla National Park
After breakfast, we begin our journey to Lake Langano. Along the way, we'll make stops at Lake Ziway and Koka Dam—both well-known birding hotspots. Keep an eye out for a variety of bird species including the African Pygmy Goose, Black-billed Wood Hoopoe, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Northern Black Tit, and Little Weaver. Day 2 Lake Langano to Hawassa Main Destination: Abijatta-Shalla National Park
Today is dedicated to birdwatching around Lake Langano and within Abiyata–Shala National Park. Lake Abiyata alone is home to over 300 bird species. You may spot Yellow Wagtails, Ibises, Cormorants, Pelicans, Ducks, Egrets, Herons, Flamingos, Storks, Swallows, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Rollers, Wheatears, and the African Marsh Harrier, among others. Overnight: in Hawassa.

Day 3 Exploring Hawassa Main Destination: Abijatta-Shalla National Park
After an early breakfast, we'll continue birding in and around Hawassa. The area is rich in avian diversity, with chances to see species like the Silvery-cheeked Hornbill, Roget’s Rail, Marabou Stork, Black and White Egrets, Spur-winged Goose, Malachite and Woodland Kingfishers, Swallows, Ibis, African Fish Eagle, and more. Overnight: Hotel in Hawassa.

Day 4 Return to Addis Ababa and Departure Main Destination: Abijatta-Shalla National Park
This morning, we head back to Addis Ababa, stopping at several birding locations along the Rift Valley Lakes, including Lake Ziway. This lake is renowned for its dense bird population expect to see African Pygmy Geese, Yellow-billed Storks, Collared Pratincoles, Jacanas, White Pelicans, Fish Eagles, and Crowned and Common Cranes. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with live music and cultural dance performances representing Ethiopia’s diverse ethnic groups. Afterward, you'll be transferred to the airport for your late-night departure.
