9-Day Great Migration Safari - From Kenya to Tanzania

Jambo, Welcome to Kenya. On this day, you will arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be received and welcomed by our representative. You will receive a brief overview of your next 9 days, then be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi, where you will stay tonight. In case of an early arrival, feel free to go out for a quick Nairobi city tour, which your guide can arrange.

Today you will depart on a scenic drive of about 5 hours towards the Great Rift Valley and finally reach Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's premier game reserve. On the way, we will have a brief stop en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy stunning views of the world's largest valley (said to be visible from space) before arriving at Masai Mara for lunch. After lunch you will have some time to rest a bit. before heading out to visit the Masai Village, where you will be immersed in Masai culture. After the Masai village visit you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today you will head out for a full day of game drives within the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for its black-mane lions and the annual wildebeest and zebra migration and is probably one of Kenya's most visited wildlife destinations. The extraordinary density of animals, including the Big Five and other varieties of plains game, is sure to provide excellent game viewing. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, giving life to both reserves before finally pouring out into Lake Victoria. You will have a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives returning back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will travel across the Kenya-Tanzania border at Sirari. After a quick vehicle swap, continue into the northern Serengeti, a vast and dramatic landscape alive with wildlife. Your en-route game drive introduces you to Tanzania’s iconic park as herds of wildebeest, giraffes, and gazelles cross your path.

Today you will spend the day exploring the Northern Serengeti near the migration routes. If lucky, you might be able to witness the migration as the wildebeests cross the Mara River to enter Serengeti National Park. During the game drives be on the look out for predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs and alot more wildlife.

After your breakfast you will have a game drive transfer to the central part of the Serengeti. During the transfer you will have a lot of opportunities to spot more wildlife from the lodge. On arrival you will continue with your game drive and feel free to break off for the day anytime and have a calm time at your camp. For all our safaris, you have control.

Your morning will kick off with one final game drive through the Serengeti, a last chance to soak in the endless plains before exiting to your next destination. Your journey will continue toward the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, with two incredible stops along the way. You will experience the traditional Maasai village and get a glimpse into a way of life that has stood the test of time, and after, explore the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important palaeoanthropological sites in the world, where the story of human origins begins to unfold.

You will then continue to your lodge near the crater rim to soak in the breathtaking scenery as the day comes to an end.

Early in the morning, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive inside one of nature’s greatest amphitheatres. In the crater floor you will be on the search for lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffaloes, all sharing this incredible enclosed world. You will then settle in for a picnic lunch beside the hippo pool, one of the crater’s most memorable spots, before heading back out for the afternoon drive.

As the day winds down, the road leads you to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees that rise dramatically against the African sky. Arrive at camp as evening falls, with dinner and a well-earned rest waiting for you.

On your final day, we’ll explore Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive herds of elephants and towering baobab trees. Enjoy a morning game drive, soaking up your last moments in the wild before returning to Arusha. A stop at Arusha Farm House allows time to freshen up before transferring to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for your evening flight home.
