Day 1 Stone Town Walking Tour and Uzi Island Mangrove Kayaking Main Destination: Zanzibar

After hotel pickup, spend two hours on a walking tour of Stone Town, visiting the markets, the narrow streets, the former slave market and the area of the old palaces, with time to learn about the island's history. Drive about 30 minutes to Uzi Island. After a safety briefing, paddle a kayak through the mangrove channels, watching for birds, crabs and fish. Finish in the village, where local people show their traditional crafts. Kayaking depends on the tide. Food is not included, so bring cash for lunch.
