Mikumi National Park, covering an area of 3,230 square kilometers, is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park and the most easily accessible from Dar es Salaam. Situated between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast, the park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, leopards, pythons, crocodiles, and much more. Day by Day Activities
Day 1 - Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
You will be picked up from either the airport, hotel, or ferry terminal and begin your journey to Mikumi National Park, which is about a 5-6 hour drive. Along the way, you'll stop in Morogoro for lunch before continuing on to the park. Upon arrival, you’ll head straight to the Masai Boma for a visit. Afterward, you will be taken back to the lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2 - Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive through Mikumi National Park, offering ample opportunities to observe wildlife. Due to its vast plains, Mikumi provides excellent visibility for spotting animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, and many others. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated campsites within the park. Later, you'll return to the hotel for dinner and spend the night at Mikumi Resort.

Day 3 - Mikumi to Dar es Salaam
After an early morning breakfast, you will begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, passing through Morogoro town. Upon reaching Dar es Salaam, you will be dropped off at the ferry terminal to catch the second or final ferry to Zanzibar, or we can take you to the airport or your hotel.
