4-Day Extended Ruaha Fly-in Safari from Zanzibar

Your driver collects you from your Zanzibar hotel and takes you to the airport for your flight to Ruaha National Park. Your safari guide meets you at the airstrip. In the afternoon you set out on your first game drive along the Great Ruaha River, where elephants, giraffes and buffalo gather to drink and crocodiles rest on the sandbanks. After breakfast, spend the full day exploring Ruaha with a picnic lunch. The route takes you through river valleys, open woodland and plains dotted with baobab trees. Your guide searches for lions, which often live in large prides here, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras and greater kudu. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

A second full day lets you explore a different part of the park at a relaxed pace. Morning and afternoon game drives give you more chances to find leopards, cheetahs and wild dogs, although sightings are never guaranteed. Birdlife is rich, with lilac-breasted rollers, hornbills and storks near the river. Your guide adjusts the route based on recent sightings. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.

Enjoy a last early morning game drive, then return for breakfast. Your guide drives you to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
