3-Day Mikumi Safari from Zanzibar with Two Nights in Camp

Your driver collects you in the morning from your hotel in Zanzibar for the transfer to the mainland, by ferry to Dar es Salaam or by flight on request, followed by the road journey west through Morogoro to Mikumi National Park. After check-in at your camp, and time permitting, you head out on an afternoon game drive across the Mkata floodplain to look for elephants, giraffes, zebras and buffalo. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Spend the day exploring Mikumi National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The Mkata floodplain gives wide, open views, so wildlife is often easy to spot. Your guide searches for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest and impala, and stops at the hippo pools where hippos and crocodiles share the water. Return to camp for lunch and a rest in the heat of the day, then go out again for the softer afternoon light. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Head out after an early breakfast for a final morning game drive, when lions and other animals are most active. Then drive back east to Dar es Salaam for your transfer back to Zanzibar by ferry, or by flight on request. You arrive on the island in the evening and are dropped at your hotel. Ferry and flight times depend on the operator schedule and are confirmed with your booking.
