3-Day Nyerere National Park Game Drive & Boat Safari

You will be picked up from your hotel, the airport, or the ferry terminal in Dar es Salaam and begin the journey to Nyerere National Park. The drive takes approximately four hours. On arrival, enjoy lunch and time to relax before setting out on a boat safari along the Rufiji River. During this experience, look out for hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife, with more than 350 bird species recorded in the park. Return to Selous River View Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, head into Nyerere National Park for a full-day game drive. The park offers opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas, and other wildlife. Its diverse scenery includes wetlands, dry grasslands, acacia woodland, and elevated viewpoints with distant mountain views. Enjoy lunch and time to relax before visiting a Maasai boma, where you can learn about Maasai culture, daily life, traditions, music, and dance. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, set out on an early morning guided walking safari with an armed ranger. This two-hour experience offers a closer look at the bush, including animal tracks, smaller wildlife, plants, and signs of animal activity. You may also encounter wildlife from a safe distance under the guidance of your ranger. After the walk, begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam. You will be dropped off at your hotel, the airport, or the ferry terminal if going to Zanzibar.
