3-Day Selous Safari from Zanzibar by Boat, Car & Flight

Your journey begins in Zanzibar, where our professional driver will pick you up for a boat transfer to Dar es Salaam. From there, you will travel to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) via Kilwa Road (approximately 5 hours) or Kisarawe Road (around 4 hours). Upon arrival, our driver will take you to your lodge or camp for relaxation.

At 16:00, embark on an unforgettable boat safari along the Rufiji River, Tanzania’s largest and longest river, stretching approximately 600 kilometers (370 miles) from Southwestern Tanzania to the Indian Ocean. As you cruise, witness stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, river cliffs, and a variety of bird species, all while enjoying the breathtaking sunset.

After breakfast, you will do a full-day game drive from 07h30 until the evening in Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve). The journey will start from the lodge or camp where you will be picked up by our professional driver and guide.

Today, you will get to enjoy various tourist attractions like spotting wildlife including elephant, zebra, giraffe, antelope and more. You will also see birds and other landscape scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains.

In the afternoon, you will get a packed lunch and some time to rest, then continue with the game drive until sunset. Return to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

On your last day, before breakfast, you will do a walking tour in the forest, accompanied by an armed ranger. We return to the hotel for breakfast and prepare for our trip to the Mtemere Airstrip where you will be picked up by our driver for your flight to Zanzibar.
